Invincible season 2: everything we know so far
A few years later, the streaming service released Invincible, an animated adaptation of the Robert Kirkman comics. In a shocking opening episode, the show immediately found its fans, who fervently wanted to see another season following the bloody finale.
We’re nearing the Invincible Season 2 premiere. We’re getting close, particularly since the 20th anniversary of the franchise is too far away.

Invincible season 2 hasn’t got any release date at this time. It was announced – as was the possibility of a third season in April 2021(opens in a new tab). According to the director of writing, Simon Racioppa, both seasons were being developed longer than the fans believe.
“We’ve had a go at Invincible season 2 for some time,” Racioppa exclusively told TechRadar. “We’re doing a lot of work on the project. Every day, Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of Invincible, has been working on it, and I’m doing my best to work on it. We’re discussing it, and we’re working well on it. It’s been in the works for more time than people realize it will take some time. It’s a huge spectacle.”
A month ago, J.K. Simmons, who plays the character of Nolan Grayson/OmniMan, was quoted by DiscussingFilm(opens in a new tab) that the cast would be entering the recording studio very soon. A portion of, if not all, of the voice actors, have finished their work for season 2. According to ScreenRant(opens in a new tab), Khary Payton, the voice of Black Sansom, said: “We have finished season 2. We’re currently in season 3. However, it’s difficult to tell when it’s due to air in the coming months].”

Zachary Quinto was Robot’s voice in season 1; however, it’s unclear whether the character will return. The first season revealed that Robot was the artificial host body of Rudy Conners, an individual with genetic issues that initially made him unable to exist outside his saline tanks.
The consciousness of Rudy was transferred to his new body clone in episode 7 of the series, and Ross Marquand has been given the role of vocalist for Rudy, which is why we’re not sure when Quinto returns. A robot has a significant role to be playing a comic character. However, we’re unsure if these incidents will be part of Invincible season 2, season 3, or even beyond.
Other actors who could be returning could include Chris Diamantopoulos (Doc Seismic), Fred Tatasciore (Kill Cannon), Clancy Brown (Damien Darkblood), Jeffrey Donovan (Machine Head), Ezra Miller (D.A. Sinclair) and Michael Dorn (Battle Beast and Thokk). Co-creator and co-author of the film Invincible Robert Kirkman have hinted at the possibility of returning (more about this later); however, we’re not sure which one will be the first to announce it.
Kirkman was also vocal about his interest in having more of The Walking Dead’s cast on television appear in the upcoming seasons. Yeun, Marquand, Laurie Cohan, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Lennie James have already appeared. However, Kirkman would like to see other Walking Dead stars sign on.
Kirkman said on ComicBook.com(opens in a new window): “I can’t think of an actor from The Walking Dead I wouldn’t like to work with ever again. It’s a fantastic collection of characters. Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. There’s nobody I wouldn’t like to invite in.”
One actor looking to make a comeback is Chad Coleman, who voiced Martian Man in season 1. In an interview with UK daily The Daily Express(opens in a new tab), Coleman joked that the actor was desperate to make it back to Invincible. Invincible, even the fact that Martian Man died at Omni-Man’s hand early in the first season.
“It Invincible is incredible clearly,” Coleman said. “Kirkman’s an incredible talent, as are all the others involved. I had a blast and loved the look of the show. I’m simply saying “Hey, man, come back to see you again.'”
INVINCIBLE SEASON 2 PLOT
Mark’s life has been forever altered based on the events during that horrific finale. His father, Omni-Man, has devastated their family (along with a large portion of Chicago). Although he’s gone, at least for now, Nolan will eventually return with all the power of his Viltrumite race, determined by the claim of Earth as a part of their empire.
Ultimately, Cecil asks Mark to become his father’s Earth champion. While initially, he’s not keen but that’s about to shift. He also intends to complete high school. However, considering all the threats that could be coming to him, it could be a challenge.

The comic book series is an enjoyable but sometimes complicated one. There are numerous directions Invincible season 2 might be headed. However, we clearly know what the next season could include. It is based on the finale of season one and a few hints from the official Twitter account.

In the meantime, Kirkman has revealed more details about the direction Invincible season 2’s plot might be headed. It could even be a reincarnation of Mark’s greatest nemesis of the comics: Angstrom Levy.
After the news, Kirkman reiterated that Levy would be a part of the storyline for season 2.
In the Skybound Invincible panel (where Kirkman could not announce the date for when season 2 will premiere), Kirkman said: “He is a very disruptive character. If you’ve read the comics and seen the show on TV, you’ll have a better idea of the direction we’re taking with Season 2 of Skybound, particularly if you think deeply about how we modified the plot in the initial season.”
For those who love the TV show, Kirkman also teased that there’s going to be some “crazy new stuff to come” as Jason Mantzoukas revealed that he could not wait for Season 2’s premiere to “introduce new antagonists… such as Thragg” and other of the comic’s intergalactic elements.
In an interview with Collider(opens in a new tab) in November 2022, Mantzoukas provided a brief but exciting update on Invincible season 2’s storyline and said: “I can tease nothing other than that it will be amazing.” We’re curious, Jason.

HOW MANY SEASONS WILL INVINCIBLE’S TV ADAPTATION GET?
In total, 144 Invincible comics span fifteen years in Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley’s lives. The television adaptation changed the sequence of certain plot elements in season 1; however, the eight episodes initially comprised only the initial 23 issues. If the same pattern is followed for subsequent seasons, Invincible might end up around the Season 7 or 8 date.
According to Kirkman, the possibility is some variation in the amount. When speaking to ScreenRant(opens in a new tab), Kirkman said there’s a “rough plan of where the events from comics will fall.” In addition, Kirkman told Inverse(opens in new tab) that he “could envision it running over 5… seven… even ten years. Perhaps we’ll be out of comic books or… we’ll do hundred seasons.”
Of course, that number is Kirkman getting excited about his show; however, we could expect to see Invincible continuing for at least five seasons. If viewers want additional episodes, Amazon would be silly to stop it after three seasons. But a lot will depend on the extent to which Invincible continues to attract viewers in the following two seasons.
But will it? In a conversation with Collider(opens in a new tab), Seth Rogen suggested that Invincible will run with Prime Video past season 3. In response to a request to comment via TechRadar, Amazon confirmed that “nothing is official yet been confirmed,” and we’re not sure of the future of the series post-season 3.
Amazon has seen huge success in its live-action show based on a comic book that is R-rated that was Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s The Boys. There’s no reason to think that Invincible season 2 shouldn’t build on the foundations of its predecessor and stay on the air for years to be.
